No less than 15 Hindu college students had been injured on Monday after members of a radical Islamic scholar organisation allegedly stopped them from celebrating Holi on the Punjab college premises in Lahore.Â

The incident came about on the Regulation Faculty of Punjab College on Monday, when round 30 Hindu college students gathered to have a good time Holi.
“As college students gathered on the lawns of the regulation school, the Islami Jamiat Tulba (IJT) activists forcibly stopped them from celebrating Holi, which led to a conflict leading to accidents to fifteen Hindu college students,” Kashif Brohi, a college scholar and an eyewitness instructed PTI.
That they had taken a previous permission from the college administration, Brohi claimed.
Khet Kumar, who suffered accidents on his hand, stated the college guards thrashed them once they held an illustration outdoors the Vice-Chancellor workplace to protest the remedy meted out by IJT members.
“We now have filed an software with the police in opposition to the IJT and the safety guards concerned in thrashing and torturing us, however FIR has not been registered as but,” Kumar stated.
When contacted by PTI, IJT (Punjab College) spokesperson Ibrahim Shahid denied the involvement of its college students within the incident.
“Not one of the college students concerned in a brawl with the Hindu college students belong to the IJT,” he stated and added the IJT organised ‘Quran Studying’ on the regulation school.
Punjab College spokesman Khurram Shahzad instructed PTI that the varsity administration had not given permission to the maintain Holi celebrations on the lawns of the regulation school.
“There wouldn’t have been any downside had the celebrations had been noticed indoors,” he stated.
Shahzad added the V-C has ordered inquiry into the matter.
